About Instant Films
Instant Films takes all the conventional wisdom about filmmaking and turns it on its head. Taking advantage of new technologies Instant Films creates a intense and exciting environment where filmmakers don't have time for pretension, ego or second thoughts.

What is an Instant Film Festival?
“Instant Films is an invitation-only festival where producers handpick applicants to act, write and direct the projects in a period of 48 hours. Practically all other aspects of the production are selected at random shortly before the event begins.”

  — Moviemaker Magazine

Who makes Instant Films?
“Among the participating directors are Paul Hough ("The Backyard"), Jason Bloom ("Viva Las Nowhere," "Bio-Dome"), Adam Davidson ("Law & Order," "Monk," Oscar for "The Lunch Date") and Lily you and Yvette Freeman (best known as "ER" cast members). Writers have included Deb Cohn ("The West Wing"), John Zack ("Out Cold"), Gail Lerner ("Will & Grace"), and Colin Campbell (co-writer for the Oscar-nominated live-action short "Seraglio"). Known actors have joined in, too, including Ahmed Best ("Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace"), Matt Walsh ("Old School," "The Upright Citizens Brigade"), Chris Atkins ("The Blue Lagoon") and Hilary Salvatore ("American Pie"). “

What are Instant Films Screenings like?
“The 400 seat theater at Los Angeles Center Studios was buzzing with anticipation. It was like an opening night screening of the latest installment of “Star Wars” – minus the guys dressed up as wookies and waving light sabers.”

  — Los Angeles Times
